ELMIRA – Basil L. Blencowe, 66, of Swartwood Rd, VanEtten, died Thursday, May 24 1984 at Arnot-Ogden Memorial Hospital. He was born Jun 28, 1917, in Lindley, son of Thomas and Margaret Huggins Blencowe. A veteran of World War II, he was a quality control inspector at Thatcher Glass Corp, Elmira Heights. Surviving is his wife, Marie Stansfield Blencowe; two sons, Michael Blencowe of Florida and Harry Lee Blencowe of Alabama; three daughters, Linda A. Krusen and Donna M. McKibbin, both of Cayuta and Gail M. Fish of VanEtten; several grandchildren. Private services will be conducted at the Barrett Funeral Home here at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Scotchtown Cemetery, Erin.
