  • Munitions worker.
1943
  • 1 September. Enlisted at Redbank Army Camp, Brisbane.
  • 10 September. Lilyan transferred to No 6 AWAS Barracks based at Emmanuel College Brisbane.

  • General duties while in this barracks several Allied forces were established in Brisbane.
  • While Lilyan was in Brisbane she met John Robert Blinco who was married at the time , no record was found of a divorce but they appear to be legally married in 1944.
1944
  • 12 February. Appointed Lance Corporal.
  • 20 February. Attended NCO training  No 1 AWS NCO school, Lilyan failed to pass and was returned to 6 AWAS.
  • 10 October. Discharge on compassionate grounds (was married by this date) and John was discharged with health issues.
