- Records show Clive Geoffrey was conscripted and attended RAF Penarth near Cardiff for induction. He joined after November 1941.
Archive Reference: AIR 78 17 1. - From Angela Blencowe Dec 2019, “Clive first went to Penarth where he was kitted out with his uniform etc. He was then posted to Weston-Super-Mare to carry out his basic training. After this, he was posted to R.A.F. Wymswold. His actual service was 6 months because he suffered very badly with Asthma and from R.A.F. Wymswold he was discharged as unfit for duty. It is a mystery how he passed a medical in the first instance. “
