Before the War

1927

The children Ken, Ron and Enid were pretty much abandoned when their mother died and went to live with Father’s mother Granny Amelia Blinko now Oxlade.

Kenneth and his younger brother Ron sister Enid was fostered and didn’t live her with brothers
Another Photo of Ron as a child. Ken Blinko wrote in 2006 She was, we now believe the sister of James Oxlade, was married to George Hodges and lived in the house on the Terriers side of the allotment you have referred to. The photo shows her with my younger brother Ron and must be circa 1928, taken at the top end of her garden. We can neither of us identify the lady on the right. Also in view upper left is the James Oxlade house showing I believe the stable at the rear.

Ronald service to date remains a mystery I was sent the photograph by his brother Ken in 2006 but can’t find the email attached and he may have given more detail in that. Its clear Ron was old enough to serve in the war and by the photo was in the Royal Navy but that’s all we know for now.
